Career Profile

Elaine has a Masters degree in Psychology and over 20 years of experience as a career and leadership coach, an executive recruiter, and a consultant in the human resources practice of a large international consulting firm. She brings particular expertise in career planning and transition, psychological assessment and recruitment consulting.

In 2002 Elaine launched Insight to Action, providing consulting to individuals and organizations on strategic career and talent management.  Services include career assessment and planning, career and leadership coaching and training and workshop development. 

Elaine is qualified and experienced with a broad range of assessment tools which she uses to assist clients to identify and leverage their unique strengths and styles at work.  These include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Strong and Career Leader Interest Inventories, the Bar ON Emotional Quotient Inventory and the Clifton Strengthsfinder to name a few. 

Clients in transition benefit from Elaine’s broad based knowledge of the job market honed through her experience in executive search.  She is able to draw on personal experience when advising clients on job search approaches that set candidates apart.
An effective presenter and facilitator, Elaine has conducted training and workshops on topics such as stress management, employee engagement and retention, emotional intelligence, etc.  She has taught at the post-secondary level most recently through the Career and Work Counsellor program at George Brown College.

Elaine is a past President of the Association of Career Professionals International, Toronto Chapter. In 2004, she obtained her certification as a Career Management Fellow with the Institute of Career Certification International.  She is a Certified Management Consultant, and longstanding Member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. Elaine is currently pursuing International Coach Federation accreditation after completing her formal education through Erickson College International.
